Ordinary Fascism (USSR 1965)

This powerful Soviet documentary film by Mikhail Romm is the most insightful presentation about German totalitarianism ever made. Romm uses primary sources captured by the Red Army during the liberation of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Berlin. The Red Army captured the journals of Nazi SS officers, the personal photo collection of Adolph Hitler as well as copies of German fascist propaganda films.

Ordinary Fascism is a vital documentary for anyone that wants to have a deeper and comprehensive understanding of the daily dynamics and internal mechanics of National Socialism.
