Clarence Clemons 1942-2011

The most prominent musician of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Clarence Clemons was the soul and backbone of the group. It's a pity that within a month, two Black musical artists have passed too early.

What You Don't Know About The Bilderberger-Group

Editor's note. Thanks to journalistic hacks such as Alex Jones and Jim Tucker, millions of people around the world believe that the Bilderberger Group is a secret conspiratorial organisation that runs the world, sets the political and economic agenda by selecting future Presidents and Prime Ministers of countries. Thierry Meyssan of Voltaire Network cuts through the nonsense and explains that the Bilderberger Conference is nothing more than a propaganda organisation to prop up and give legitimacy to NATO.
By Thierry Meyssan
Every year since 1954, over one hundred of the most prominent personalities of Western Europe and North America meet - behind closed doors and under maximum security - within the Bilderberg Group. This exclusive seminar lasts for three days and almost nothing of the debates filters to the outside world.
Since the breakup of the Soviet Union, numerous journalists have taken an interest in this secretive, elitist organization. Certain authors have seen it as the beginning of a World Government, responsible for the major political, cultural, economic and military decisions of the second half of the twentieth century. This interpretation has also been voiced by Fidel Castro, but it has never been confirmed nor invalidated by any solid facts.
In order to find out what the Bilderberg Group is or isn’t, I searched for documents and first hand witnesses. I obtained access to all of its records for the period 1954-1966 and numerous later documents, and I was able to talk with a former participant that I’ve known for years. No other journalist to date, including the authors who have popularized today’s stereotypes, has had access to this wealth of internal documents of the Bilderberg Group.
Here’s what I discovered…

Alex Jones Is Full Of Crap

Editor's note: Once again right wing reactionary gas bag Alex Jones has been exposed as a liar and fraud. Jones is nothing less than a disinformation agent peddling fear, conspiracy and paranoia to mostly ignorant Americans and other nationalities. The following article was posted by the organisers of the Alternative Press Centre in St. Moritz, Switzerland during this month's Bilderberger conference.
From Alles Schall und Rauch
I just can not let the lies that Alex Jones reported about the Bilderberg-Meeting in St. Moritz stay unchallenged. I am writing this in English so that everybody in the States and elsewhere knows what really happened. The bull crap that this guy has been turning out is just staggering. What he reported must be from a different planet because it has nothing to do with the reality here in Switzerland.

I know what I am talking about because I organized the “Alternative News Press Centre” we set up in St. Moritz on our own turf and all the information came to us and was distributed there by bloggers to their respective web sites. Alternative media and bloggers from Switzerland, Germany, England, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Romania, Spain, Sweden and USA were in our press centre working together and sharing information.

The Destabilization of Syria and the Broader Middle East War

By Michel Chossudovsky
What is unfolding in Syria is an armed insurrection supported covertly by foreign powers including the US, Turkey and Israel.
Armed insurgents belonging to Islamist organizations have crossed the border from Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. The US State Department has confirmed that it is supporting the insurgency.
The United States is to expand contacts with Syrians who are counting on a regime change in the country.

This was stated by U.S. State Department official Victoria Nuland. "We started to expand contacts with the Syrians, those who are calling for change, both inside and outside the country," she said.

Nuland also repeated that Barack Obama had previously called on Syrian President Bashar Assad to initiate reforms or to step down from power." (Voice of Russia, June 17, 2011)

Fukushima: It's Much Worse Than You Think

From Al-Jazeera English
By Dahr Jamail

"Fukushima is the biggest industrial catastrophe in the history of mankind," Arnold Gundersen, a former nuclear industry senior vice president, told Al Jazeera.
Japan's 9.0 earthquake on March 11 caused a massive tsunami that crippled the cooling systems at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's (TEPCO) nuclear plant in Fukushima, Japan. It also led to hydrogen explosions and reactor meltdowns that forced evacuations of those living within a 20km radius of the plant.
Gundersen, a licensed reactor operator with 39 years of nuclear power engineering experience, managing and coordinating projects at 70 nuclear power plants around the US, says the Fukushima nuclear plant likely has more exposed reactor cores than commonly believed.
"Fukushima has three nuclear reactors exposed and four fuel cores exposed," he said, "You probably have the equivalent of 20 nuclear reactor cores because of the fuel cores, and they are all in desperate need of being cooled, and there is no means to cool them effectively."

Bosnia: Exposing Media Disinformation and Anti-Serb Propaganda

The US military-industrial establishment in the beginning armed covertly the military formations of the Muslim president of multiconfessional B&H Alija Izetbegovic. He declared in his February 1991 speech in the Parliament that "For independent B&H I would sacrifice peace, but for that peace in B&H I would not sacrifice its sovereignty", (Kovacevic}, Slobodanka, Dajic, Putnik, 1994: 33).
This was contrary to the will of one constitutive people expressed in the referendum to remain within Yugoslavia.
With the support of US authorities, Alija Izetbegovic vetoed the Jose Cutillero Plan of 1992 and the Vance-Owen Plan of 1993, as Owen describes in his memoirs. Such policy had as an effect civil war and ethnic cleansing. This is exactly what Western leaders proclaimed they wanted to stop by bombing regions inhabited mainly by Serbs, after extremist Muslims staged a massacre at the Marcala marketplace and blamed it on Serbs.
The fact that UN investigators could not confirm this accusation, stressing that the mortar shell could not have come from Serb positions was supressed at the time. In this way Izetbegovic succeeded to realise his strategic political objective outlined already in 1992: "To get the West to defeat the Serbs and establish a Muslim dominated state for him" (Bodansky, Yossef, 1995).

Stop Making Sense-A Film By Jonathan Demme and Talking Heads

Widely regarded as the best rock concert film ever, Stop Making Sense radically transformed music and performance art when it was released in cinemas in the year 1984. Directed by innovative film maker Jonathan Demme (Married To The Mob, The Silence of the Lambs) and executed on stage by David Byrne, Stop Making Sense was filmed over  a period of two nights in Hollywood at the end of 1983.
Imaginative, innovative and at times shocking, Stop Making Sense has become a timeless classic.
Though the production and execution of the stage performance nearly destroyed the band and caused their eventual split-up 8 years later, Stop Making Sense is considered to be the musical and artistic peak of Talking Heads. Featuring David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry, Edna Holt and Bernie Worrel.

Gerald Celente on Jeff Rense Show 13 June 2011

"Any adult that still believe a politician deserves what they get. People better start learning how to fight ....This is system is collapsing and people better wise up to it because the same losers that told you they are going to fix it , are going to fix it this time ?!?!What imbecile is going to actually believe this nonsense? Whether it is republican or democrat it makes no difference despite their rhetoric, everything they touch they both have their touch at it, they are going to squeeze every dime out of the people and the people are binding over and taking it they better start to learn how to fight back...People have lost their self respect and dignity the whole nation is turned into a zoo....The Arab spring has turned into an Indian summer , there is no change at all, tough times never last but tough people always do. People are not there to protect you. Protect yourself... People better learn self defense and survivalism."

Dimitry Orlov: US Will Collapse Like The USSR

REPORT FROM TRIPOLI: More NATO "Humanitarian Intervention:" The Bombing of Al Fateh University, Campus B

Since coming to Tripoli to see first hand the consequences of the NATO military operations, it has become clear to me that despite the ongoing silence of the international press on the ground here in Libya, there is clear evidence that civilian targets have been hit and Libyan civilians injured and killed.

Ratko Mladić and the Pandora's Box of the Bosnian War

From Voltaire Network
by Slobodan Despot
General Ratko Mladic’s arrest and his extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia were prerequisites for Serbia’s membership in the European Union. This has now been done. As expected, the western media have tagged the defendant as the "Butcher of Bosnia" and piled on as many charges against him as possible, thereby masking NATO’s role in Yugoslavia. But there can be no reconciliation without truth, which, as Slobodan Despot observes, is far more complex than the Manichean account given.

The King of the Woods-A Novel By Der Kosmonaut Part 2

1987 started off on the wrong foot in New York. The Howard Beach racial attacks caused social turmoil in the city. The racial divisions were most pronounced among the teenage high school students in New York. The city’s Black teenagers decided to exact revenge against white teenagers. Incidents were reported at high schools all across the city.
The first day of school following Christmas vacation was tense. On the subway that morning, Howard Beach was all that Blacks and Puerto Ricans discussed. The white students were quiet and subdued with their heads down. In Stuyvesant arguments and shouting matches between white and Black students were heard in the corridors of the school. During lunch period I sat with two white students and another Black student. We talked about Howard Beach. Chris Napolitano from Bay Ridge and I had a testy conversation.

The King of the Woods-A Novel By Der Kosmonaut Part 3

I was personally happy about the arrival of 1988. 1987 had been an odious year. There were many things to look forward to. I would turn 16 at the end of January. I would get my driver’s license and my father’s Mustang. It was Ronald Reagan’s last year in office and a new President was to be elected. Emily and I were tight and solid as lovers. We had sex daily. The end of the first semester was in sight and a new semester would soon begin.
Robert Bork had been turned down for the Supreme Court by the Senate Judiciary Committee dealing a savage political blow to Reagan and the forces of reaction. Jesse Jackson was running for President as he attempted to become the Democrats nominee that year. In essence, 1988 appeared to be the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. My mother insisted that I would start working during the summer. I was getting closer to adulthood and independence.
Emily and I did not practice safe sex. We did not use condoms nor any form of contraception. Her mother was deeply alarmed. Though her mother accepted her daughter being sexually active and had nothing against me being Black, she was worried that Emily would get pregnant. She had long telephone conversations with my mother expressing her concerns. My mother was concerned too. She did not want my life to be ruined by having to support Emily and our baby. My mother was additionally worried about me having a baby with Emily as she was aware of my father’s personal history.

The King of the Woods-A Novel By Der Kosmonaut Part 4

To say that 1989 got off to an inauspicious start would be an understatement. I was on my father’s S-list. Not a day passed without him giving me dirty looks and making nasty put downs. I was grounded and had lost all phone privileges. Emily and I were practically separated. Once a week she would phone only to be verbally abused by my mother. I was forced to do all the household chores except cooking. Everyday my mother made of list of chores that I had to complete from shopping to tidying up the apartment. I was not even allowed to watch TV except during dinner time with my parents.
My grades were slipping. I wasn’t doing very well in English Honors. The reason was that we spent too much time reading Shakespeare. Most of the curriculum was based around literary criticism which I found to be a waste of time. I enjoyed reading but I didn’t enjoy having to look for symbolism in the text and to infer what the author meant or didn’t. I was bored in English Honors. I never scored higher than 75 on any of my exams.
I did very well in American History AP but the course load was too much. By neglecting to use my study period and not studying and doing homework on weekends until Sunday night, I fell far behind in my subjects. Each night I had no less than 6 hours of homework to do. I was clearly not cut out for such an intensive workload. That was not all that I was having difficulty with.
I was barely passing Chemistry. I was a first class disaster in the Chemistry Lab. I was too exhausted from my English and American History studies to remember the Periodic Table of Elements and to remember equations for chemical formulas. I had failed half of my Chemistry tests. I spent most of my time in Chemistry class daydreaming about music.
I had returned to mathematical imbecility. While I found Algebra and Geometry relatively easy, I was lost in Trigonometry. Without Emily in the same class, I simply didn’t understand it. I was failing Math 5. I was scoring in the high 40’s on my best days. My average was about 35%.

The King of the Woods-A Novel By Der Kosmonaut Part 5

On New Year’s Day of the first year of the new decade my parents and I watched the inauguration of David Dinkins as Mayor of New York on TV. Never before or since had I ever felt such pride and hope for a politician as on January 1st, 1990. The ceremony was held outside on Park Row in front of City Hall. Most of the spectators were Black. The expressions of joy and expectation on their faces moved me.  A few people had tears in their eyes.
Dinkins gave a decent speech and sincerely attempted to heal the sharp racial divisions in the city. He spoke of New York not as a melting pot but rather as a “Gorgeous Mosaic”. Dinkins acknowledged that the racial and cultural differences belied the fantasy of New York as a melting pot. Though New Yorkers of all races and ethnicities lived and worked side by side, the reality of social integration was not present. The concept of the city as a Mosaic implied that the social sectors of the city were unique and separate yet together they formed a mosaic of the city. Dinkins went out of his way to assure white New Yorkers that he was their mayor as well. He would not be the mayor of Blacks and other people of color but that he would be the mayor of all New Yorkers.

Queer Feminism As Degenerated Captialism

Queer Feminism is degenerated capitalism. In fact, capitalism is promoting Queer Feminism in order to exterminate humanity. That is the next stage for capitalism. To turn human beings into asexual beings without the capacity to create. No, no, no! I refuse to be castrated and emasculated! Queer Feminism is the biggest danger to all libertarian struggles. Queer Feminism is how capitalism traps "anti-capitalists" within the spiritual orbit of capitalism. In fact, it's the black hole in the middle of the black widow's spider web. Terrible! Terrible state of affairs in the West!

Offshoring Has Destroyed the US Economy

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts
These are discouraging times, but once in a blue moon a bit of hope appears. I am pleased to report on the bit of hope delivered in March of 2011 by Michael Spence, a Nobel prize-winning  economist, assisted by Sandile Hlatshwayo, a researcher at New York University. The two economists have taken a careful empirical look at jobs offshoring and concluded that it has ruined the income and employment prospects for most Americans.

To add to the amazement, their research report, “The Evolving Structure of the American Economy and the Employment Challenge,” was published by the very establishment Council on Foreign Relations. http://www.cfr.org/industrial-policy/evolving-structure-american-economy-employment-challenge/p24366

For a decade I have warned that US corporations, pressed by Wall Street and large retailers such as Wal-Mart, to move offshore their production for US consumer markets, were simultaneously moving offshore US GDP, US tax base, US consumer income, and irreplaceable career opportunities for American citizens.

Among the serious consequences of offshoring are the dismantling of the ladders of upward mobility that made the US an “opportunity society,”  an extraordinary worsening of the income distribution, and large trade and federal budget deficits that cannot be closed by normal means. These deficits now threaten the US dollar’s role as world reserve currency.
