NYPD Brutalise Demonstators Saturday 24 September.

NYPD show what they're about in this video taken 24 September 2011 on the anti-Wall Street protest. The NYPD weren't even as bad as they normaly are. This incident took place in Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan. Had this protest taken place in Harlem, Washington Heights and The Bronx with a largely non-white participation, people would have been killed.

Introducing Lowkey

This revolutionary British rapper of Iraqi descent, along with Immortal Technique is taking Hip Hop in the right direction. Sadly it took a British rapper to denounce and expose Obama as a right wing imperialist. Meanwhile, most Black American rappers out of an ignorant and misguided sense of "race solidarity" have been mute on the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Obama. Obama Nation is presented in two parts below.

Eurythmics-Missionary Man (Extended Version)

A rather intense mix of Blues, Soul, Heavy Metal and Gothic with a mind blowing video. (Note: The video and audio are out of sync because the footage is taken and edited from the original video of the shorter version as well as edited concert clips. The audio is the extended version originally released on the Missionary Man 12 inch record Summer 1986)

Style Wars

This documentary about New York City subway graffiti artists and the battle with the city and Metropolitan Transit Authority publicised the then world famous art style which became the most prominent iconic symbol of New York during the 1970s and 80s. The film follows graffiti artists of all ages as they "bomb" the subway cars both underground and in the yards. There are hilarious interviews with then Mayor Ed Koch and the Chairman of the MTA. The film shows how by 1982, the city of New York began to re-asset authority and begin to "clean up" the city by cracking down on graffiti. Still in contrast, the crackdown was relatively harmless and tame compared to the police terror tactics used by Giuliani starting in 1994-5.

Wild Style

The first full-length feature film about Rap culture, DJ culture, Graffiti and Break dancing from 1982 shows the roots of Hip Hop from the bombed out streets of the South Bronx to the Lower East Side. Conceived by Fab 5 Freddy and produced and directed by Charlie Ahearn, this film shows Hip Hop culture when it was still underground and not yet commercialised and capitalistically degenerated. One of the many highlights shows the major contribution of Puerto Ricans to the form of Breakdance and Graffiti. Puerto Ricans have been air brushed out of the history and development of Hip Hip culture in the same way that Puerto Ricans to an even greater extent than Blacks have been excluded from New York's public social and cultural life today. Another interesting angle shows the contribution of women as graffiti artists and rappers. Hip Hop has degenerated into grotesque misogyny and degradation of women. This film is a must see for anyone interested not only in the social origins of Hip Hop but also the atmosphere of New York 30 years ago. Everything presented in this film is not only gone but completely illegal. Enjoy!

NATO's War Crimes In Libya: Sanctions Against Defiance

From Voltaire Non-Aligned Press Network
By James Petras
14 September 2011
Faced with the deteriorating global situation and a wave of popular uprisings breaking away from Western hegemony, NATO powers counter-attacked in the most resolute manner. According to James Petras, the destruction of an independent and secular regime like Libya was meant to send a strong message: any independent Third World regime can be overthrown; colonial puppet regimes can be forced upon a devastated people; colonialism is still thriving; and imperial rule is here again.

Jews Setting Themselves Up For A Fall

The Republicans managed to win the Congressional seat in Brooklyn, NY held by the Democrats for the past 90 years. Jewish voters created this result.
Just as Jews in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba abandoned the Liberals and NDP in droves for Harper, the Jews in the US are dumping the Democrats. Twice within 14 years, Jews in NYC voted for Fascist Catholics over one of their own.
In the 1997 Mayoral race, Jews dumped on liberal Upper West Sider and Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger in favour of Guliani. Now, the Jews in Brooklyn turned against their own Orthodox Dem in favour of a Catholic reactionary.
The more that Israel finds its existential position more precarious, the more Jews in Europe and North America will turn to the far right.

Jean Michel Basquiat-Downtown 81

A gritty, punk-rock fantasia starring legendary graffiti artist, poet and musician Jean Michel Basquiat, Downtown 81 was, for years, considered a "lost" film. It chronicles the hipper-than-hip downtown New York art and music scene of 1980-81 while capturing one of the most interesting and lively artists of the late 20th century as he stands poised for fame. Features appearances by Deborah Harry, Fab Five Freddy and Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Written by Glenn O'Brien. Directed by Edo Bertoglio.

America: A Sunset Empire

The rise and decline of the American Empire
By Devon DB
Overview
The America: An Empire In Decline series examines the rise and decline of the American Empire. In Part 1, Dawn Of A NewCentury, I analyzed America’s original plans for the 21st century, immediately after the end of the Cold War, which imagined a world where the US would be the sole superpower and preventive diplomacy would be used to ensure no flare-ups occurred.
However, with the rise of the neoconservatives, first with the Project for the New American Century think tank and then later in the form of Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and Condoleeza Rice as Cabinet members in the Bush administration, a vision that saw the fall of the Soviet Union as an opportunity for the United States to become a full-fledged empire became deeply rooted in the American political and military psyche. They envisioned a world in which America would be the dominant economic, political, and military power and whose enemies and potential rivals would be kept in check. All they needed was an incident to make this possible and the devastating attacks on 9/11 provided an excuse for the US to God the globe.

NATO’s Glorious Race War in Libya

By Glen Ford
Now that NATO has demonstrated that a gang of the world’s richest nations, who collectively account for 70 percent of the planetary arms budget, can indeed, after six months and 20,000 aerial sorties, blast their way into the capital city of a developing country of six million people – that is, now that the imperial mission is no longer seen to be at jeopardy – the corporate media are at last willing to acknowledge the racial aspects of the Libyan conflict. As long as the outcome remained uncertain, western correspondents, who had swarmed the rebels like shameless paparazzi since the armed outbreak began in Benghazi in late February, pretended not to notice that their heroes were behaving like rampaging Ku Klux Klansmen. Just as the western press were full partners in NATO’s war against the Libyan government, so too were they accomplices in the ethnic cleansing that by early March had already killed many hundreds of sub-Saharan Africans and black Libyans in rebel-held territory – facts that were known to information outlets all over the world, but largely blacked-out in corporate media reports from Benghazi.

Ratko Mladic in Long-Suppressed Interview

In 1995, just one month after the Srebrenica massacre and three weeks after The Hague Tribunal pressed charges against Mladic, a Western TV crew managed to meet with the general for an interview. But despite the obviously high level of importance and the exclusivity, the interview was never aired.
The tapes remained in Bosnia and Herzegovina in private archives and only now is the conversation being released to the public after RT managed to gain access to the materials.

Periscope Up

There are many things taking place currently. Global War and Economic collapse are happening.
However, we are still in the calm before the storm. There's currently too much patter on the Net concerning the tenth anniversary of you-know-what. Then there is much chatter about another terror strike, real or "false flag" about to happen. Then there's all the talk about the Dollar and the Euro crashing the implementation of martial law.
And then there's Comet Elenin which millions believe in actually Planet X that will destroy the planet soon.
So yes, there's no shortage of paranoia and doomsday scenarios on the internet. I will not pander nor will I add to it.

Fresh 3 M.C's-Fresh (1983)

I know Hip Hop. I grew up on Hip Hop before it was commercial and mainstream.
This is one of the most important records in Hip Hop but mostly forgotten and unknown by the younger generations. This was the first rap song to popularise a saying amongst Black youth in New York in the 1980s.
"Fresh" was the term used to conote absolute positivitiy.
Rather than saying "That's dope!" one would say, "That's fresh!" The opposite of something being "fresh" was "wack". Enjoy this old skool hip-hop secret gem.

Witnessing the Transition to fear in Tripoli

By Lizzie Phelan
Amidst all the media furor about the fall of Tripoli from the grasp of the Libyan government, it's not easy to get a clear picture of what things look like under their new rulers. Upon being released from five days of entrapment in the Rixos hotel with 35 other foreign journalists, it was hard to believe that the streets I was driving through were the same ones I had become familiar with during the month I had spent in the capital.
The previously bustling roads with families rushing around toing and froing from the beach and getting ready for the meal to break the fast were empty, the green flags replaced by rebel ones, and the sparse checkpoints previously run by male and female volunteers, ie residents with Kalashnikovs, had been replaced by checkpoints every 100 or so meters, manned by tanks and exclusively male fighters holding sophisticated weapons supplied by the world's most powerful military force, NATO.

The Libya Media Hoax: Fabricated Scenes of Jubilation and Euphoria on Green Square

From Global Research
By Metro Gael

Surpassing previous mass media fabrications, both in scale and boldness, yesterday morning's Al Jazeera mise-en-scène will surely go down in history as one of the most cynical hoaxes committed by corporate media since the manipulated pictures of Iraqis topplying Saddam Hussein's statue after the US invasion in 2003.

On the morning of August 22nd 2011, Al Jazeera aired a 'live' report from Green Square in Tripoli, which claimed to show the capture of the Libyan capital by rebel forces. Scenes of jubilation and euphoria enveloped Al Jazeera's reporter Zeina Khodr as she declared: " Liya is in the hands of the opposition''

Susan Lindauer: US Government Was Behind Terror Attacks

Ex-CIA asset Susan Lindauer was the first member of the American intelligence agencies to get forehand knowledge of the forthcoming attacks on 11/9/2001. Lindauer attempted to alert both the CIA, FBI and the Justice Department to stop attacks. She was met with evasions and outright hostility. After the attacks and the passage of the PATRIOT Act, Lindauer was arrested and imprisioned without trial for more than a year. Lindauer is a credible witness. She names people, dates and facts. This is testimony that neither Alex Jones nor any other "Truther" figures have ever unearthed. Lindauer doesn't invoke conjecture, speculation or hearsay.

Wikileaks Editorial: Guardian journalist negligently disclosed Cablegate passwords

1 September 2011
A Guardian journalist has negligently disclosed top secret WikiLeaks’ decryption passwords to hundreds of thousands of unredacted unpublished US diplomatic cables.
Knowledge of the Guardian disclosure has spread privately over several months but reached critical mass last week. The unpublished WikiLeaks’ material includes over 100,000 classified unredacted cables that were being analyzed, in parts, by over 50 media and human rights organizations from around the world.
For the past month WikiLeaks has been in the unenviable position of not being able to comment on what has happened, since to do so would be to draw attention to the decryption passwords in the Guardian book. Now that the connection has been made public by others we can explain what happened and what we intend to do.
