Introducing Danny Simmons

Danny Simmons was the famed train announcer at New York's Penn Station. Between 1968 and 1994, Simmons announced all the departing inter-city and interstate trains. He had a distinctive voice and his mannerisms were always entertaining. Simmons was probably the greatest actor in Modern history. He had a very unique way of pronouncing all the names of the stops for each train he announced. He always sat in his window booth perched above the waiting room. He always wore a white collar shirt with a neck-tie loosely around his neck. When he wasn't announcing the trains, he had the
most interesting countenance on his face. His facial expression went from bored to bemused to earnest.
