The Coup - "The Guillotine" A Declaration of War Against Capitalism

Oakland based hip-hop group The Coup and this song "The Guillotine" are inspired by Lucy Parsons and The Wiz. Lucy Parsons was the widow of one of the Haymarket police riot victims of State Repression. Do not be fooled into mistaken the references to L. Frank Baum's novel The Wizard of Oz to the 1939 film. The references are to the 1978 film The Wiz starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. The Wiz is a revolutionary critique of capitalism. Lucy Parsons was the first Anarchist cum Socialist cum Communist anti-cpaitalist revolutionary in the United States. Parsons was quoted to say:
"That's my religion"--to run the machine that will guillotine the
capitalist. This video is a declaration of war against American capitalism.
